At a time when digital developments are constantly changing our daily lives, technical expertise alone is no longer enough. What is needed are young people who bring curiosity, commitment and future-oriented digital skills to the table. ICT Scouts promotes precisely this kind of talent. And we support that!
Discovering and promoting TechTalents
As a Swiss non-profit organization, ICT Scouts is committed to identifying, promoting and networking the next generation of ICT professionals. The initiative comprises two key elements:
- Scouting for talent: Programming workshops at schools provide initial insights and practical experience. The focus is not on traditional selection based on performance, but on discovering potential. Around 1,700 students have been identified as TechTalents since 2024! Those who show a particular interest during scouting are invited to one of the eight campus locations.
- Promoting talent: Over the course of three years, the talented young students have the opportunity to visit the ICT campus outside of regular classes. They receive ongoing individual coaching and are able to develop and expand their digital skills.
ICT Scouts also believes in equal opportunities: over 50% of participants are girls!
- 8 campuses
- 9 participating cantons
- 450 scouting trips carried out between 2024 and today
- Around 1,700 students identified as TechTalents
- There are currently 813 active TechTalents!
Building bridges to the business world
Through their hard work, ICT Scouts builds bridges between education, young talent promotion and business. The ICT Scouts talent matching sessions are very popular: this is where companies and young talent can talk directly to each other and make valuable contacts. Ideally, the matching process will result in a training contract.
Helping to shape the future
As a partner of ICT Scouts, we actively contribute to ensuring that this support program remains available free of charge to young people. This opens up new opportunities for them, regardless of their educational attainment, previous knowledge, social background or financial resources. It enables young people to discover their passion for technology at an early age, develop it further and turn it into a real career prospect. This is how we drive technological progress together!
